I'm not sure why they don't have more Dunkin' Donuts around here. I love the coffee, and though I am not a huge donut fan, I can't help but want to pick out some good ones once there.
We stopped by on our way to see my mother-in-law, used the coupon, got a dozen, a large coffee for me, some bagels for breakfast the next morning and a pound of Dunkin' Dounts brand coffee. I get the feeling that is the whole point of businesses making the coupons. You go in for a deal and end up buying a bunch of extra crap. Oh, sorry about the picture. Apparently, some people could not wait long enough for me to take a picture of the full dozen.
We go to the one on Military Drive near Lackland. It has been there forever (that I know of anyway). Honestly, how anyone could pick Kirspy Kreme over Dunkin' Dounts is beyond me.

This is the first time I have disagreed with ya .... Krispy Kreme all the way!!!
The donuts give me heartburn, but the coffee is all I brew at home. I buy the whole bean at Wallyworld.
They used to have a lot more in the city when I was a kid. I don't know what happened to them. They're a damn sight better than Krispy Kreme, but I do love me some Shipley's.

I have had a hard time finding it locally. HEB was carrying it, now they aren't. I bought a bag at Walmart, already ground but must have bought the wrong flavor because it was not as good. The bacg of ground "Regular" from the actual shop hit the spot.

I love the little Kolaches they sell at Shipley's. I worked out of the old Kelly Bank Tower (Now Wells Fargo West) on Bandera for about 6 months, and every Friday, the guys in my office would take turns picking up a bunch of them. Yum!

You should never have the chocolate glazed jalapeno dunkers before noon...

Brenty, I can handle the KK donuts, but the smell of the place when you walk in the doors is simply overwhelming. DD on the other hand smells of fresh coffee and glazed goodness.
Too true Dave. That's why I go through the drive-thru and I don't drink coffee. I know, the only adult who doesn't. I'm a milk- (1%)aholic.
As I'm in the northeast, there's an obnoxious profusion of Dunkin' Donut shops around here. As far as I'm concerned, the DD Enterprise started its journey down the toilet when they started with all the poofter variants of good ole hot, black coffee and sandwiches.
While on one of my annual pilgrimages to the great Adirondack Mountains for a week of camping, I discovered the absolute best donut shop in the universe. It's The Donut Shop in Eagle Bay, NY.
They keep things simple at The Donut Shop: plain or cinnamon. But let me tell you that these aren't assembly line corporate donuts. They're fry cakes and simply the very best!
Pat and Dave Rowe are wonderful people, too, though their fry cakes have spoiled me for life.
