I enjoy reading the security reports that come from our HOA's security staff. These guys tell it like it is: Just the facts.
4/19/09 @ 0542: Complainant called in reference to his wife hearing a noise in the house. Upon arrival I checked the front of the house and rear all appeared to be secure. I checked inside and a helium balloon was on the fan blade making thumping noises. EOR
I have a few questions:
- Did the Complainant just get home at 5:42 in the morning, or had they slept all night long and only at about 5am wake up and then hear the thumping noise?
- Did the responding officer assist the complainant in deflating said balloon, and if so, were any weapons discharged?
- Was there any sign of Chupacabra involvement?
As a follow-up to a recent report about a potential Chupacabra in 78250, I am happy to report that we have not had any recent sightings. But of course, always looking for a potential National Enquirer-like situation, I offer you an excerpt from an official report:
2/20/09 @ 0740, while patrolling in the area of incident location I noticed a mangy gray in color Coyote walking down Timber Jack toward Timber Grand. I honked at the Coyote in attempts to get him out of the neighborhood. I kept honking the horn of the vehicle a few times until the Coyote ran into the greenbelt area behind Timber Grand.
@ 1251 hours, Subject #1 contacted me and reported a Coyote running loose in the area of Timberwilde @ Timber Trace. I responded to the area and made contact with the Coyote in the area of Timber Canyon @ Timber Crown. The Coyote appeared to be the same one I had encountered earlier in the morning. I followed the Coyote to the area of Timber Canyon @ Timber Mill where I noticed him going into the greenbelt area. I contacted SAPD and informed them of the situation. I contacted Subject # 1 and informed him of my actions. End Report.
Strange.

I was taking a few minutes to read through some security reports when I saw this little gem. The strange thing is, we didn't get any calls from the National Enquirer or the Weekly World News, considering the significance and the magnitude of this incident. Should someone have called the local media? I'll let you be the judge.
Verbatim from the report:
On 1/2/09 @ 1315, an unidentified resident arrived at the office and said he had seen a strange looking animal. He pointed toward the Timberwilde school parking lot and I saw a dog like animal. The animal had gray skin with a small bit of light colored hair on it's rump and was as big as a medium sized dog. The animal crossed the street and went into the green belt behind the Lodge. I went to the soccer field and drove into the greenbelt keeping the animal in sight. The animal stopped and ate a squirrel; at this time I saw a resident and his son in the green belt. I went to alert them of the animal coming their way. The animal then ran towards Timber Cross and disappeared. The animal looked like the animal that was shot and killed in South Texas and said to be a Chupacabra. End of report.
When are people going to be like me and just learn to keep a camera with them at all times? You never know where you will spot something good.
