Strange at The Pearl Brewery...

My wife and I were walking toward the Pearl Farmers Market on Saturday when she pointed to a row of bicycles she thought was cute. I just pointed my camera without really looking to focus and clicked and we moved along. This is the picture of the bicycles.

As I was going through the photos and resizing them for use on my blog, something caught my eye. Look just above the bicycles and slightly to the right where there is a lady walking with something.
WTF? Let's pretend this is Halloween. But it isn't. It was 100 degrees in mid June and unless that creature is from Mars or someplace, it is a little kid in some sort of costume. Oh, and no other kids are dressed up at all.

Trick or Treat? Hell; get this kid a bucket of ice.

Strange

  1. RB is right, children love their costumes and want to wear them all the time! I don't think that is strange at all. It's kind of cute.

  2. Did I forget to mention it was 100 degrees?

Little kids in fairy costumes in the air conditioned Wal Mart is cute. Little kids in some furry outfit in 100 degree weather is strange!

  3. Kids are never hot or cold. I guess that lady couldn't convince him that it was way too hot for his costume. She is probably his grandma and is putty in his hands!

  8. Okay, okay! I stand corrected!

That is not a strange picture at all. It is a cute little child who will not faint from the heat. Nor will the doting grandmother have to dip him in the water of the San Antonio River to cool him off.

I think my next gig in life will be as a childrens photographer so I can capture moments like this.

    Sincerely,
    Mr. Insensitive

  10. Someone needs to tell this child "No" every once in a while. And yes, I think it's weird. My kids would have eaten Twinkies for dinner if I left it up to them, but someone has to be the grown-up, ya know? Costumes are for Halloween.
