From time to time, my wife runs across something that warrants her pulling out her awesome pink digital camera that she keeps conveniently stashed in her purse. Oh sure, it could be a picture of one of her little students picking their nose or something worthy of a Life Magazine cover. But this time, she happened upon a magnificent natural wonder (at least for this part of the desert), just down the street from her brother's house. When I think of a cactus, I think of the tall green thing with two elbows and arms sticking up, covered in prickly spikes and such. This is certainly different. Can you imagine how old this thing must be?Anyway, there you have it. The most interesting cactus in San Antonio, courtesy of my wife and her pink camera. She has a good eye for interesting and strange things, but I promise, I won't post any pictures of little kids picking their noses.
I've lived in Texas most of my life..and never seen a cactus tree..sigh*...I miss San Antonio...spent a lot of my youth at Kelly AFB...and used to live at Kelly Homes on Saturn Street...went to Thomas Jefferson High School...used to hang out at Billy Mitchell Village..we were military punks..ha
