Arby's had been running an ad for a 2 for $5 mix and match deal all weekend so I went into their place today looking for that deal. I was told it was 2 for $6, not 2 for $5. I thought maybe I had miss-remembered the ad on TV, so I went ahead and ordered two items covered by the deal and paid $6. Turns out I hadn't miss-remembered the ad after all. The same ad was still running on TV this evening, 2 for $5. Sure seems like Bait and Switch to me, and the food wasn't very good either. The last time I went there they said they were all sold out of their specials, and yet it was on a Sunday at 5pm with a zero line up? Yeah right! Me, my wife and many of our friends and family no longer eat there because of this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3429533294124956819.post-29312987384200973442007-08-29T21:09:00.000-05:002007-08-29T21:09:00.000-05:00If I was the manager, I would have honored the ad,...If I was the manager, I would have honored the ad, provided there was no expiration date. If I was the customer, I would have demanded free cheddar melts for a year. Woo-hoo! At one time, it was 5 for $5, not $5.95. Guess their prices went up? Probably because they don't have the high-traffic volume that their neighboring fast food restaurants appear to have. Their parking lot (store on Tezel Rd) always appears to be almost empty every time I drive past.

And I agree with EMS's comment. I would have accepted the flyer for the special, told you it was a typo (if it was) and then made some posters to tape on the entrance door glass telling customers there was a typo in that ad, apologizing for the inconvenience, but alerting them BEFORE they walked into my store.

But I'm not the manager, nor in the fast food biz (other than as a customer), so how much does my opinion count?Anon E. It s not worth a lawsuit.I know this from experience.I will however lets this slide only because I have dealt with the Nasty Customer on Occasion in my 17 years. Needless to say it will be another year or 5 before I eat at Arbys again. I so dislike fast food !!!

EMSAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
